Keilir main office and administration will be closed during the Holidays, from 19 December to 2 January. Flight operation will be open during parts of the Holiday season.

Keilir Aviation Academy (KAA) has signed a CAMO arrangement with Flugverk in Iceland regarding service and maintenance of all training aircraft at the flight school. The agreement takes place on 1 December.

Over the past few years there has been a steady increase of women in professional pilot training at Keilir and currently one in every five pilot students at the school are female.

Dr. Hilmar Þór Hilmarsson Professor at the University of Akureyri, School of Business and Science, and former Advisor to Keilir Academy, has published a new book. The publishing company is Routledge Taylor & Francis Group. The book is entitled: “The Economic Crisis and its Aftermath in the Nordic and Baltic Countries - Do As We Say and Not As We Do.”

Keilir will offer an Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) Course on 1 and 2 November 2018.

Keilir Aviation Academy has implemented Assessment and Screening Process for all applicants in both ATPL and Integrated Professional Pilot Programs. Next assessment for courses starting in January 2019 will be held Friday 12 October 2018.

Keilir is currently hosting two students from Lund University School of Aviation in Sweden (Trafikflygarhögskolan). As a part of their studies, Anna Palmqvist and Viktor Varhelyi, chose to do their two week internship at Keilir Aviation Academy in Iceland, staying on campus and working alongside our professional pilot students and instructors.

Keilir Aviation Academy offers Flight Instructor Course with study start 28 September 2018. The course includes both theoretical courses and flight training.

Keilir Aviation Academy is currently hiring the position of aircraft engineer to administer general maintenance of the school's training aircraft. Applicants are required to have Part 66 qualifications and relvevant job experience.

Keilir Aviation Academy is the first Icelandic aviation school to opperate ATPL training abroad, with the first pilot students arriving at the KAA training site Barcelona earlier this summer.
