The National Police Commissioner, in cooperation with the Directorate of Health, have declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Iceland. The state of emergency will take place at midnight on Monday October 5th and will be a part of increased efforts and restrictions in order to manage the outbreak.
An increase in COVID-19 cases in Iceland the past few days have led to these recent developments, and we intend to take them seriously and deal with them accordingly.
Due to these cricumstances all studies at Keilir - where applicable - will move to distance education. This will take place from Monday 5 October until further notice.
Furthermore the Keilir cafeteria will be closed and all unnecessary guests and meetings at the Keilir main building will be discouraged. Staff will be asked to work from home if possible. Face masks will continue to be mandatory for those present in Keilir joint facilities which will also be restricted to 30 people at once.
