The second - and last training - workshop for teachers and mobility of students within the EU funded InTeMIS project took place the week 14 - 18 May. The workshop was hosted by Action Synergy and took place in Athens, Greece.
InTeMIS aims to introduce ICT based Flipped Learning in VET Schools and Centers. An innovative and student-centred pedagogical approach, to increase the quality of teaching and learning, to help reduce early school leaving, to decrease the number of under-skilled teenagers, and ultimately to support modernization of education and training systems.
During the training sessions, both students and teachers from Trollaskagi Comprehensive College in Iceland and Leonardo Da Vinci VET school from Italy exchanged their best practices and experience concerning flipped learning. The workshop was lead by ?Sigrun Olafsdottir and Arnbjorn Olafsson from Keilir Academy in Iceland, which has had extensive experience in implementing flipped learning activities within the school. Sigrun, a foreign language teacher at Keilir, offered training courses on flipped learning and Action Synergy delivered training sessions on the use of ITC tools. Essenia UETP from Italy had the management and administrative responsibilies for the meeting.
Students and teachers were presented with examplesof the flipped learning metchod and theoretical input, as well as - most importantly - actively participating in practical workshopsin which they created their own flipped courses examples.
The InTeMIS project is supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission and partners educational institutions and organisations from Italy, Greece, Spain and Iceland. Next up for InTeMIS is the final project meeting in June in Salerno, Italy. To learn more about the project please visit the project website.
