Meet Nora, an Adventure Journalism student in the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program at Thompson Rivers university and recent alumna of the Adventure Guide Diploma.
"I always knew I loved the adventure lifestyle, but I also had a lot of creativity that I wasnt sure had a place in the adventure sport and tourism industry. The Adventure Studies program showed me that it was possible - that there are so many opportunities to incorporate creativity. As I come close to the end of my degree, I have a lot of options of where I could take my life from here, and thats really exciting and overwhelming for me. The program showed me community and allowed me to make connections with different people in many industries. I have the Adventure Studies program to thank for all of the friends and professional connections Ive made throughout the past couple of years. I am grateful to be a part of this community." Nora said in a recent interview with the TRU Adventure Studies department.
Nora started her schooling at Keilir - TRU Adventure Studies where she completed her 8-month Adventure Guide Certificate. Still stoked on the outdoors and keen for more, she joined TRU in Kamloops to complete her Adventure Guide Diploma.
