Adam Laurie is a Swiftwater Rescue Instructor at the Keilir - TRU Adventure Studies Program in Iceland.
Adam has a passion for the river environment. He has been a swiftwater rescue instructor for seven years and an active Search and Rescue volunteer for over 16 years, leading countless rescues missions.
From kayaking to rafting to simply swimming, the river is his second home. Whether it is teaching six years old kids to play safe around the river or pushing the limits of adventure guides in class IV canyons, to Adam the reward is all the same: the joy of sharing his passion for the river. Adam is currently the Operations Coordinator at Rescue Canada.
Swiftwater Resuce is a week long course taking place in Tungufljót in South Iceland in April and September 2016. The course is a part of the eight month university program for Adventure Guides offered in cooperation with Thompson Rivers University.
